BEST DIPLOMA PROJECT CENTER IN CHENNAI
With the growing demand for electricity, power distribution networks often face the challenge of transformer overloading, which leads to reduced efficiency, overheating, and shorter operational lifespan. To address this issue, this project proposes an automatic load-sharing transformer system that utilizes an Arduino Uno as the main controller. The system consists of two transformers, four current sensors, and a relay-based switching circuit. The primary transformer is responsible for handling the normal load, while the secondary transformer is activated automatically when the load surpasses a predefined threshold. The Arduino continuously monitors the current through the sensors and determines the appropriate switching operation. If the load remains within normal limits, only the primary transformer is active, ensuring energy efficiency. However, in cases of high power demand, the secondary transformer shares the load, preventing overload and ensuring stable power distribution. A 16x2 LCD is used to display real-time load values and transformer status, enabling easy monitoring. This system enhances power efficiency, reduces maintenance costs, and prolongs transformer lifespan. By automating the load-sharing process, this solution eliminates manual intervention and ensures a reliable power supply, making it suitable for industrial and residential applications. The project focuses on improving the overall reliability and efficiency of transformers in power grids.
